Job satisfaction of local extension agents for fisheries: Insights from farm level survey in Bangladesh

The present study was conducted to assess job satisfaction of local extension agents for fisheries (from here and later in LEAFs) Melandaha Islampur sub-districts under Jamalpur district Bangladesh. Data were collected by the researchers from LEAFs during September November 2021 through face-to-face interviews using a structured interview schedule. Descriptive statistics, rank order, coefficient correlation used analyze data. Almost all (97.8 percent) had low medium service delivery. Among fifteen indicators, ‘supervisor’s guidance’ identified as most important one. least ranked indicator ‘job security’. Correlation analysis showed that age, level education, experience, training exposure, organizational participation are significantly associated with their satisfaction. All (100 faced high problems research area. severe fourteen ‘farmers’ reluctance accept new technologies,’ followed ‘shortage manpower’. problem ‘farmers non–cooperative’. Therefore, it is highly recommended if an advance program could be organized solve problems, would great get quality services build well-organized sector Bangladesh which will finally help enhance nutritional security poverty reduction country.
